Karen A. Smith (she/her) is a vocalist, sound healer, dancer and student of sacred chant, music and dance from around the world. Her repertoire includes Afro-Brazilian, Afro-Cuban and Haitian chants, music and dance (and a little percussion), Hawaiian oli, mele and hula, Sanskrit mantras, R & B, inspirational music and more. She performs with numerous cultural organizations in the Bay Area and beyond including Arenas Dance Company, Loco Bloco, Brasarte, Cuba Caribe, Alafia Dance Ensemble, Fòlklò Ayisyen Lakay, Na Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu, Omi Ashe, Yoga of the Voice, and more. She has a strong belief in the power of community singing and music to heal and connect us all.
